  Amazing Place!  Sam and his brother Pete serve what I would consider one of the best pizzas I have ever tried.  The crust was fantastic!  You must also try the garlic parm chicken wings. They were juice on the inside with delicate crispy skin.   The garlic parm taste was spot on without overpowering the taste of the chicken.  Best of all Sam and Pete will treat you like family!

  Called at 8:40 to make a take out order. According to their webpage, they are open till 9 pm every night. The young lady who answered the phone told me they were already closed.
  This was disappointing, and a failure to keep customers updates on services.

  When the owner tells you, the recipe was successful for his grandfather, that's a very good sign!  That's what I was told yesterday when I stopped into this very nice casual Italian Bistro.  It was the solid Yelp reviews that enticed me here.
  
  Atmosphere- This is a two-room joint.  One side has the kitchen, a tiny bar and some high tops.  The other side is a very nice dining room.
  
  Adult Libations- Three or four taps and three or four wines.  Just enough to go with your fine Italian food. I was quaffing a Stella in an ice-cold mug while I sat at the bar.
  
  Customer Service- The young lady behind the bar was also handling the to-go orders and even though it was busy she was great.  Note that I could watch Sammy making the pizza while I was perusing the menu.
  
  Food- A decent sized Italian menu and a Stromboli was calling me as the standard ingredients were a little unusual.  In addition to the cheeses there was pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers.  Yup, you guessed it!  This was grandfather's recipe.
  
  The personal size was $10, and it was out quickly and huge.  It was cooked perfectly, and I loved the combination of ingredients.  Granddad should be smiling!  While I was happily munching I saw a lot of pizzas go by and they looked wonderful.  BTW- NY Style!
  
  If you are blowing though teeny tiny Lake Placid and craving casual Italian, this is the place to go!

  The food is good. I especially enjoy the Sammy's Stromboli. I always order take out because I can't stand the noise. Lots of yelling and slamming of oven doors. Prices are fair and they do make a good pizza.

  Mr. Sammy's N.Y. Style Pizza in Lake Placid, is a fast favorite for my family and I when spending weekends in Highlands County. Having owned a home in the community since 2002, we have seen several restaurants come and go - Mr. Sammy's only seems to be expanding. And that's Lake Placid, Florida - not Lake Placid, New York.
  
  Pizza at Mr. Sammy's comes in both a 12" or "large" 18" size. When size matters, the extra two inches provides bang for the buck. At $11.99 - with one topping - it beats all other pizza joints in town.  Extra toppings are only $1.25. My favorite is Mr. Sammy's Classic which comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, onion, mushroom, meatball, black olives, and anchovies. It's a real taste of Italy.
  
  Great taste - great pizza - you can also create your own if you don't like the provided selections.  
  
  Yes, it's meat lasagna. Can you imagine anything else? It's always been my preference as I'm not into vegetable lasagna. It's like ordering turkey bacon. Where on the turkey can pork be found?  It can't.  At Mr. Sammy's, the lasagna is a meat lasagna. A special twist of two families - Dana's mother Judy and Sammy's Nana - this Italian dish is an all-time favorite. I have tried it on several occasions. Dinner comes with garlic knots, you can always order a side salad.
  
  Beer and wine, soft drinks and plenty of daily lunch and dinner specials, my family and I have eaten at Mr. Sammy's about a dozen times. For the kids, it's usually pizza - for the adults it's usually the lasagna, eggplant rollatini or garlic parmesan crusted chicken. Great food, never an issue.
  
  Located on Interlake Blvd - on the circle leading from Devane Park - Mr. Sammy's N.Y. Style Pizza has plenty of parking, polite and friendly staff, and an overall family-style atmosphere. Clean establishment and many recent upgrades. They are closed on Monday.
